Ethan's First Christmas

Saturday, December 19, 2009

It's snowing!!!!

So the weather forecast said it would be 3-6 inches today. Coming from Wisconsin, we said to ourselves, "Big Whoop! What is the big deal?" Yeah, ok, so the big deal is that there are no such thing as snow plows in this place, or at least not on a weekend. Still 6 inches shouldn't be anything we can't handle, until you throw in the hills. Scott had to walk part way home today because he couldn't get home safely and my boss called and told me not to come to work. It looks like a magical wintery wonderland out there, and has really made it feel like Christmas here. We just have to get accustomed to the winters here and think hard about getting a 4-wheel drive or at least chains for our cars.
Otherwise we are doing good. Scott is busy with Plastic Surgery this month and I stay busy with Ethan. He is only in the 5th percent for weight, but is the 75th percent for head size. I guess that means he'll be a genius, right? We are trying to put some weight on him, but he's figured out the difference between formula and the real stuff and won't do it. Not sure how we are going to get on top of that. Overall though he seems healthy, so we aren't too worried, we just need to get some meat on him. We are super excited to celebrate our first Christmas him though. Scott will have worked all day and night on Christmas Eve, so we will celebrate in the evening on Christmas day after Scott wakes up. It will be sad to not go home to Idaho this year, but also kind of nice to not have to travel. We hope you are all doing well this Holiday season. Merry Christmas!!

Scott had to distract him, but we finally got a pic of his smile!

Ethan's Progress

Ethan had another doctor appointment on Tuesday. He is now 10 lbs 11oz and 22.5 inches long. He got his shots too which was not so fun. I've never heard the pain cry yet and it was so sad! He is doing great though and we are looking forward to his blessing on Sunday. Hopefully we'll be able to post pictures. For some reason I haven't been able to post them lately.
